Traditional (Bullet) Vs. Liquid Lipstick

Wohoo! We survived another week, cheers to the weekend. It’s time to put on that bright red or pink lipstick for a weekend night out with a special someone or with the girls. Ladies what’s your lipstick preference? Lately I’ve been gravitating towards the liquid matte lipstick which I think is becoming very popular nowadays. I like how it’s easy to apply, the staying power, plus the finish it gives. What’s really the difference between a traditional and liquid? Let me break it down for you and tell me what your verdict is:

Traditional Lipstick or Bullet

Traditional, Bullet or the Twist Up Lipsticks have a wide range of finishes – satin & sheer, creamy, frosted, glossy or matte. Many of us like them because of its texture, feel and wider color selections.  Also we can twist all day, it’s quick and easier to apply, can be applied even in a moving vehicle – without mirror for some! Having control over the sheerness in each application by applying fewer or more swipes.  Downside: less staying power, if mistreated in heat or bumping, lipstick could melt or break.

Liquid Lipstick

Liquid lipsticks comes in wide range too, glossy, creamy and the one I’m loving right now, the mattes! They are ultra-pigmented, offers instant color in a single swipe, applied like a lip-gloss with a wand applicator. If you find the right brand liquid ones are very long lasting and feel weightless once it’s set. While application its glides on your lips like a gel, resulting to a gorgeous, vibrant and fuller looking lips.  Downside: Application can get inaccurate better have steady hands, some brands are very drying to lips so we need lots of prep before applying, and higher price point. Some liquid formulas don’t set making it transferable to your hair, clothes or teeth easily.

Kylie Jenner loves liquid mattes she even created her own line, Kylie Lip Kit - but a very pricey,
you can get others for a very affordable price

Love to know favorite lipstick formula.  Smile, drink and kiss with confidence ladies, happy weekend!

Travel tip: Packing accessories and makeup

Hello ladies, I’ve been away last week to have a vacation with some family and friends and as I was packing I had a little bit of a roadblock.  As much as I wanted to bring lots and lots of options, I have to limit my luggage to what I will just use on my five day vacation. Of course I don’t want a missing earring or a dent on my ring, or I don’t want my favorite foundation to spill on my make-up bag, so ladies let me give you some tips on how I pack my girly stuff.

For my accessories, I use mini ziplocks.  This little bags help my necklaces from being tangled, I place each accessories separately, before putting them in a small plastic box.

For my make-up, I use  bigger ziplocks before putting them in small cosmetics bags, this way my  brushes, face creams, blushes and eye shadows are organized. I put my lotions and even hair products in them too, just in case they spill, this way you won't have to worry about your make-up case.

Im sure you'll be going on a vacation this coming holiday, whatever you plan to pack, remember to pack lightly, you might come across a fabulous find!

What I have been up to

Last week Primp & Style turns 1 year old! Yay!  To celebrate, I have been busy lending a hand to a fashion enthusiast/ entrepreneur friend (Hi FABric!) market her accessories, which I believe is very trendy, versatile and very affordable. Primp & Style is all about being fashionable without breaking the bank and I believe collaborating with someone who supports the idea is truly a big leap. Ms. Roselle (owner FABric) and I will be posting some pictures of us wearing these plush affordable pieces that can surely add an ohmpf to ones outfit. Ladies finding your statement pieces will now be easy, by browsing from this link! : https://www.facebook.com/PillowFaBrik

Make-up by yours truly, all accessories are from FABric. On me, turquoise triangle earrings P175 & Gold Bracelet P200 . Roselle is wearing a statement necklace for P250. Close up of all the items for sale can be viewed thru the link.

Endorsing by way of purchasing some of the pieces is my way of celebrating a year of cut-rate fashion!

When in the ceremony, to keep the guest cool.
Doing a wedding is never easy, another thing that I have been up to this past weeks is help a family plan a wedding. It’s fun coming up with ideas for the wedding preparations.  I’m also learning a lot from my experience, I would never have guessed that choosing a wedding planner can be a bit of a challenge! Hey if you plan to hire one in the future, I’ll gladly share to you a list of questions you might want to ask, before hiring someone. Yours truly is in charge of the wedding favors, simple but tasteful is what I have in mind, here’s a peak of one of the favors the couple intends to part with.

Ladies, whatever you are up to this week, always stay chic!

My storage suggestion

Need help organizing your growing accessory and make up collection? Storage is many peoples bête noire (a perso/ thing strongly detested or avoided). Let’s admit, getting everything in the right place is really hard, especially if we don’t have a lot of storage options, and most of them don’t look so chic.  Whenever your collections grows there always a struggle to readjust, that’s why finding the right case is a must. I’m sure you’ve experienced losing a pair of earring, and don’t know where to find it, so Im going to share to you some tips on how to keep them always together and prolonging  your accessories  lives.

I put my accessories individually in a small ziplock (P75 for 100pcs), before I put them inside this Familia case, available at SM Dept Store for about P250.

My bangles are stored in microwaveable round containers, Php35 for 5pcs.

Late last year I almost gave up on finding the right storage for my make-up, remember the clear acrylic organizer I wished for Christmas? (link here). .  Well it’s pretty costly, so I ended up using cosmetics bags instead. But because of my recent opportunity trip, I came across this clear acrylic case from Sephora, thanks Chayne and Candee for this wonderful gift! Because it’s clear, I can easily know &  grab things I need when applying make-up.

If you’re a make-up junkie like me, surely one of your dream destinations is
                                                                                                        Sephora.

If you like having your things around I’m sure you want to keep them always neat and pretty, I hope my storage tips inspired you to get organize. Have fun organizing ladies and good luck!

Clyde

White Eye Shadow

Hi ladies, sorry for the long hiatus. The holiday rush has left me feeble to write, but now that the decors, boxes and all of the Christmas stuff  has been stored and tidied-up and flu/fever gone, I wanted to face a beginning with a look that is fresh as the weather is warm.

Forget the heavy black sooty eyeshadow and blood-red lipstick and trade them for the complete opposite: a hint of fresh white on the eyes and a burst of pink on the lips, lets get summer ready ladies!

Get the look:
  • Start with a flawless base.
  • Apply white eyeliner to your upper and lower lid.
  • Soften by slowly blending white eyeshadow, making sure the white outlines the eyes. Intensify the white on the inner corners of your eyes. This will look as if the eye is catching the light.
  • Finely line the upper lashline with your black eyeliner to define the eyes.
  • Apply a hint of blush on the apples of your cheeks.
  • Curl your eyelashes and apply mascara.
  • Finish the look with a hot pink gloss for a fresh look.
Remember to keep it fresh and clean, nothing too glittery or heavy in texture, and ladies have fun!

 xoxo,
Clyde
