Long Vest – the new basic

This coming weekend let me encourage you to get acquainted to the new basic – the long vest. I know, they have been around for quite some time now, but do you have it in your closet? Yes same with you, I ignored this piece until lately, and after getting a hold of my first long vest, I can’t seem to shop wearing it. Not yet convinced?  Well let me highlight some good reasons why you should keep this item a staple to your wardrobe.

1.  Layering – there’s this saying “when styling, always add a third piece”, I know it can be a hat, scarf or a jacket, but when you’re in a weather that’s in the middle of hot and sometimes cold, you want your third piece to be functional. In Singapore where I am currently staying, it often rains in the afternoon, so this long vest helps to keep me warm in the office and during my commute back home.

2. A good cover up – hesitating to wear that crop top, now you can! Crop tops are a big hit, it even made it to becoming a wedding gown style. If you’re too timid to wear that belly button showing top, or a very sexy plunging satin dress, then you have the long vest to the rescue.

3. A good alternative – if you’ve grown tired of your usual office suit or blazer, here’s an alternative. It also has the clean polished and chic look finish to it.

4. Drama – I usually stay clear of drama in my life but would not say no to add drama into my outfit style. In this case the longer and bolder choice of colour the better.  Take note for those who are vertically challenged, a floor length vest can help to elongate your frame. I'm thinking of getting a red floor length one on may next mall visit.

Still in doubt, take a cue from these famous fashionistas!

Fabulous mid-week my loves!

Clyde

Floral State of Mind

Yay to May! In honor of the yearly celebrations in the Philippines – the Flores de Mayo (Spanish for "Flowers of May") and because we love floral print outfits for our summer ensembles, I’m sharing to you this sweet deals I got on my weekly hunting mall trips.

I rarely get clothes that are printed, let alone floral ones but this flirty wrap play suit that I came across last weekend was really hard not to get.  I absolutely love the cut and style of the jumpsuits – so why not get three! It was originally price at S$29 but was marked down at S$10 each!  Sweet deal right?

Romper 1 - Can be worn with flats or heels,
this playsuit has a distinctive frilled hemline.
Cotton On
Romper 2 -  Playsuit has a button down front and gathered waist,
Style with heels to take your look from day to night
Cotton On
Romper 3 - I have to get one in white!
Cotton On
I rolled up the sleeve coz it was hot outside, and sorry I could only model one
romper - no photographer =(
And ladies here are some inspirations I get from the web, similar to these playsuits I purchased!

Put a tailored blazer like Kourtney Kardashian
for a more stylish look.
Smile ladies and stay chic!

Weekender: Updating your wardrobe with Bows

Hi Loves!

It’s the weekend again, finally! and you’ll probably  go out with friends for a night out, a movie date with a boyfriend – Step Up All In is in theatres this weekend!, or least, just stay-in, clean your apartment and do something to spruce up some of that wardrobe.  In cases where I choose to just stay in for the weekend, I always keep myself busy either rearranging the furniture or planning how to wear clothes that I already have but in a different way to make them look new and updated. This weekend since I choose to stay at home, relax, watch a reality TV show, (huge fan of reality TV , KUWTK)., I’m thinking of using  BOWS to give a touch of cuteness to my outfit for the coming week.

Who doesn’t love Bows? They are very cute and playful, it adds a feminine accent to a variety of clothes and accessories. Here’s what I’m thinking

Bows in Hair - I like to try these two styles, they  are simple and yet sophisticatedly  placed in the hair.

Seen on the Balenciaga Spring runway

Blogger Alexa Chung

Bows as an accessory  - Bow necklace, earrings and ring are very delicate looking

Bows in footwear - I love them on flats!

Found them on: colincowieweddings.com

Kate Spade Sandals

Bow in your top - I really like this Bow DIY idea, maybe I'll try this next friday!

You can instantly change the look of you top by just adding
color coordinated bow on each side at the end of the strap of your top
Found on: asos.com
If you love scarfs, this ones for you, just add a ribbon to your scarf.

Have a happy weekend ladies, and don't forget to put a bow on it!

Weekender: My $5 challenge

Its Friday once again ladies, and I am psyche about this coming weekend, I’ll be sleeping over at my friend’s house and we will do some cooking, but you know what excites me the most? It’s about having that girl time, we are all grown up women, but you know, we still enjoy dressing up each other once we are together in one room.  So ladies, I’m ready to brag, yes, my $5sgd finds this week.

It’s funny how I can still inject my weekly mall trips to my very busy week, hey I feel I will get sick if I don’t visit the mall even once in a week, I’m sure you can all relate girls, whether we are not buying anything , it’s always nice to browse and window shop right? My trips to the mall was worth it this week, I get to stumble upon this two uniquely styled top for $5 per piece.

The view deserves a much bigger space, it was a little hot,  this green blouse
was so airy and comfortable, Green Blouse only $5!

This white blouse has T-shaped cut (only $5)in the front, to make it look fashionable and not fall flat
I paired it with a yellow printed skirt and red heels

I hope you’ll find something fab also this week! Kisses to all of you ladies!
