Bra-blems solved!

Hello ladies and hope everyone is having a good rest beacuse of the long weekend. Today's post is very intimate, and Im sure most of you can relate to. I remember realizing that I've been wearing the wrong bra size since Miranda's scene on the famous HBO show Sex and the City.  (Scene uploaded by gejowka: link here)  Right after that, I did consult a salesperson and read a bit more about correct bra fittings. Indeed getting the right bra style, size and cup  felt more comfortable and I felt more free.

Below are some Bra-blems I'm sure you've experience, plus throwing in also some suggestions  on how to resolve them.

1. Slipping Straps - very annoying and not sexy (unless your inside the bedroom with the hubby) ... to avoid SS, make sure your bra is put on correctly, pull it   down at the back so its under your shoulder blades and even with the front. If your bra is too high on the back,  it might be causing the strap to fall off your shoulders.

2. Back Band riding up - if this is happening to you, clearly you are wearing the wrong bra size. Get a correct fit, the one that will be snug and create a straight line across the back. If bra is too loose it will surely ride up, and front side will sag. It might also be a sign that your bra is old, and has stretch out, therefore it needs replacement.

3. Straps digging in - bra straps should'nt cause pain, it should not also be the one holding up your breast, it should be lifted by the band underneath and not lifted by the straps. Again it might help to consult a salesperson to get the correct bra size and kind. Feeling awkward having to measure it for you, check out Thirdlove app to get your correct bra size, all you need is five minutes, supportive bra, tank top and a wall mounted mirror.

Below's a guide from Thirdlove for other bra problems and their solutions so won't never have to worry about these Brablems.

I hope sharing this helps ladies! When you decide to get a couple of new ones, please check out Thirdlove; they make really comfortable and cute bras! They have a wide collection called 24/7 which has that luxe feel and functionality. To get a 15% off  when you order, use the code: BRABLEMS"

Beauty Find - Facial Oils

Hello loves, I hope everybody is having a great week start.  On the weekend I finally got hold of this precious oil – The Body Shop, Oils of Life, Intensely RevitalisingFacial Oil. Yes, like you, there was a push and pull inside me about adding this to my beauty regimen.  Why should I be putting oil on my face when I struggle to remove it all day?!  Fact: Essential oils are from botanicals, which are usually packed with antioxidants, oils can be absorbed quickly, lock in moisture, and helps prevent fine lines and even ward off breakouts. So far so good right? So when I was finally convinced that these oils don’t equal oil, I finally got one. Want to try them too, but don’t know how to choose? Here’s a quick guide:

Dry Skin – plant oils from argan, almond sunflower, rose, raspberry, primrose and avocado. These types of oil sink into your skin instantly, locks moisture leaving a smooth and radiant skin.

Normal Skin- grape seed oil and jojoba oil are antioxidants that fight off damage caused by ultraviolet light. Argan oil  contains healing and anti-aging properties to keep skin balanced.

Oily Skin - there’s an oil that actually kills bacteria and fight breakouts – tea tree oil. Over cleansing and using harsh oil control or blemish treatment strip the skin of oil making it produce more to compensate.

Aging – seaberry oil has restorative properties. Primrose, macadamia, marula, rosehip are also good for matured skin.

Started using on the weekend, face feels smoother
already.
Facial oil can be used day or night, and these oils have an amazing scent that is calming and help to lift your mood. There are many facial oils out there, surely overwhelming for a first timer, but be sure to try before you buy, like I did. There are shops offering free samples, so better try first before purchasing a full bottle. It might help if you could ask your dermatologist if your skin is sensitive or you have allergies.

Flowers of the World & My Pleated WOW outfit (white-on-white)

It’s nice to be out and enjoy the weekend especially if the agenda requires viewing beautiful flowers from all over the world. For this day filled with gorgeousness and daintiness, I have chosen to wear a white-on-white outfit or WOW to let the flower stand out when taking pictures. My WOW outfit ensembles are a pleated white skirt and a sleeveless crop top, with an inverted V cut at the front's bottom. Pleated skirts are coming back and spring is the right time to wear them, especially if you get them in pastel colours and lighter shades, you’ll be summer and beach date ready in no time. Pleats are romantic and fanciful, just like most of the flowers I’ve seen today, and just because pleats are also whimsical already, no need for too much accessories, makeup kept to a minimal too, using nude hues.

A beautiful weekday start ladies!

Clyde

Traditional (Bullet) Vs. Liquid Lipstick

Wohoo! We survived another week, cheers to the weekend. It’s time to put on that bright red or pink lipstick for a weekend night out with a special someone or with the girls. Ladies what’s your lipstick preference? Lately I’ve been gravitating towards the liquid matte lipstick which I think is becoming very popular nowadays. I like how it’s easy to apply, the staying power, plus the finish it gives. What’s really the difference between a traditional and liquid? Let me break it down for you and tell me what your verdict is:

Traditional Lipstick or Bullet

Traditional, Bullet or the Twist Up Lipsticks have a wide range of finishes – satin & sheer, creamy, frosted, glossy or matte. Many of us like them because of its texture, feel and wider color selections.  Also we can twist all day, it’s quick and easier to apply, can be applied even in a moving vehicle – without mirror for some! Having control over the sheerness in each application by applying fewer or more swipes.  Downside: less staying power, if mistreated in heat or bumping, lipstick could melt or break.

Liquid Lipstick

Liquid lipsticks comes in wide range too, glossy, creamy and the one I’m loving right now, the mattes! They are ultra-pigmented, offers instant color in a single swipe, applied like a lip-gloss with a wand applicator. If you find the right brand liquid ones are very long lasting and feel weightless once it’s set. While application its glides on your lips like a gel, resulting to a gorgeous, vibrant and fuller looking lips.  Downside: Application can get inaccurate better have steady hands, some brands are very drying to lips so we need lots of prep before applying, and higher price point. Some liquid formulas don’t set making it transferable to your hair, clothes or teeth easily.

Kylie Jenner loves liquid mattes she even created her own line, Kylie Lip Kit - but a very pricey,
you can get others for a very affordable price

Love to know favorite lipstick formula.  Smile, drink and kiss with confidence ladies, happy weekend!

Weekend Reminder: Housemate Rules to peacefully Co-exist

Hooray to Friday, it’s been awhile Ladies. I know this space is about sharing fab finds, sweet deals, and making everything else pretty, but today I am inserting Ladylike Laws to peacefully co-exist with your roommates/housemates.

Sometimes having to live with an unfamiliar person can be very very tricky, and (ha ha) annoying, but Ladies that shouldn’t be the case. Dressing and looking good isn’t the only recipe to be fully truly beautiful but having that feeling of peace and calmness in your own house, makes a better you. Here are my 5 pointers to help you maintain the Zen in your home.

The Décor – kitchen, living, dining and laundry areas are shared, your style might not be their style. Be considerate to consult before adding anything or making a drastic change.  These shared spaces design should be mutually agreed upon.

The Kitchen- Do your own dishes, that’s the most important. If the utensils and cookware are both for everybody’s use be attentive enough to make sure that it is clean, and no food residue will remain on them ( I personally have horror stories about this, Yikes!).  This creates the most resentment if one has to constantly clean and wash the dishes, follow the Last Touch Rule! The one who uses last should always be responsible to wash it.

The Food – if you want to share food, I think it’s also ok to split the cost evenly. Oversharing sometimes can lead to a misconception that your food is free. Let them know and ask politely, we don’t want money matters to be the cause of an argument. And oh remember people are happy to share but eating their treats … ask permission.

The Guest – always give your housemates a heads up if you have family, relatives and friends who are coming over. More importantly talk and discuss if the stay is for an extended period of time, not cool if you overlook this, the golden rule: be considerate.

Your Behaviour – admit that many of us girls are passive aggressive – to translate tendency to be bitchy. I have read and reposted this – To be a Lady, never let another’s rudeness, diminish your good manners.  Sort out the facts and calmly talk to your housemates to figure out a solution. Some people aren't confrontational but if we don't try this and just let the bitchiness go on, no peace will be achieved.  Keeping your composure while being thrown into a difficult situation is a lifelong skill that is essential.

They say its hard to find "the one", I agree I also have my fair share of my horror flatmate stories, but as you experience these unpleasant things you also get to learn something which can lead to you being the best roomie one can ask for.

Shout out to my flatmates, Carla and Faye who manages to still keep the zen in our now called home.  Enjoy the weekend loves, only pillow fights are allowed.

 xoxo,
Clyde

Love your face - try some facemask!

Maybe lots of you are not really a big fan of facemask, but believe me, if you are  one that doesnt have the time and extra bucks to go to a spa, you definetly should be trying this, its Korea's  No. 1 Hydrogel Mask Brand and its finally available now in Singapore. Faith in Face is a hydrogel mask that contains a high percentage of water soluble ingredients to deliver maximal hydration and superior rejuvenation.  It also have a gentle formula so its suitable for all, it cools the skin, thanks to  beta-glucans which also rejuvenates stressed out skin. If you love watching all those Korean series, for sure you will begin to wonder how to achieve a more luscious looking skin - try some Faith in Face Facemask.

Available in  five variants:

1. After shower look hydrogel mask- intense hydration and moisture retention capabilities

2. Black and white film star - anti- ageing effect that improves and lightens skin tone

3. Nourish Me- provides the ultimate nourishment - to protect, maintain and strengthen your  skin to prevent damage

4. Invisible Pore - effectively minimize pores

5. Hold me tight - restores moisture level to restore elasticity and bounce

  Exclusively available at Watsons
for $14.50 for box of 3 sheets

The mask is split into two: bottom and  top part of the face. Its not a regular microfiber nor cotton sheet, its a Hydrogel mask so its flimsy, it holds more serum compared to other face mask. To apply, place the mask onto your face using the smooth side and then peel off the other plastic sheet. Allow 10 - 20 minutes before taking it off.  I suggest putting it in your fridge before using, it makes it more colder, I believe it becomes more effective too.

Happy pampering ladies and enjoy the rest of the week.
