Miss Manners

It’s party time! Ladies I’m sure your mailbox or should I say Inbox is probably full of celebratory invites from family and friends, whether it’s a get-together, cocktail party Christmas or New Years fete, it’s our time for some socializing and to “let-loose” a little bit.  But ladies “Let Loose” doesn’t mean we should let our manners go out the window, here’s some reminders how to go through parties with finesse:

ww.seriouseats.com

MM1- Don’t double dip – Its inappropriate (and unhealthy), spoon some sauce to your plate and dip as many times as you want.

MM2 – Don’t drink excessively – yes the booze is free flowing, but the host and some guest might feel uncomfortable with an obnoxious guest.

MM3Don’t over eat – over indulging of foods will attract negative attention, and besides this means less food for the other guest, be considerate.

MM4 – Don’t play with your silverware – put down your spoon or forks while talking, don’t wave or point with it.

MM5 – Always use the serving utensil – avoid using your silverware.

These are just simple reminders, but sometimes we tend to overlook them, remember ladies even the most carefree parties’ demands certain expectations.

Happy dress hunting ladies!

The not-so-glamorous-moments

It is definitely difficult to find composure in situations that brings up panic, fear, mishap and a desire to cry or run away. Ladies, have you ever tripped or fallen in public?  Well, I did two days ago, and yes I have bruises to prove it. I would not go into details how it happened however, I’ll just dish out how I bowled –over my not-so-glamorous-moment.

It did hurt (a lot yes!), but I asked myself “"what's the worst that could happen?". If your friends with me on FB, you’ve probably read about this already.

Yes,Im still friends with these guys!

Ladies, enjoy every single moment, the good, the bad, the beautiful, the ugly, the inspiring and the not-so-glamorous moments. I have amazing people with me during that day, so it was not impossible to enjoy the rest of the day, yes even with an injury. Scroll down to see the pics.

Don’t slip, trip or fall ladies, happy weekend!

Travel tip: Packing accessories and makeup

Hello ladies, I’ve been away last week to have a vacation with some family and friends and as I was packing I had a little bit of a roadblock.  As much as I wanted to bring lots and lots of options, I have to limit my luggage to what I will just use on my five day vacation. Of course I don’t want a missing earring or a dent on my ring, or I don’t want my favorite foundation to spill on my make-up bag, so ladies let me give you some tips on how I pack my girly stuff.

For my accessories, I use mini ziplocks.  This little bags help my necklaces from being tangled, I place each accessories separately, before putting them in a small plastic box.

For my make-up, I use  bigger ziplocks before putting them in small cosmetics bags, this way my  brushes, face creams, blushes and eye shadows are organized. I put my lotions and even hair products in them too, just in case they spill, this way you won't have to worry about your make-up case.

Im sure you'll be going on a vacation this coming holiday, whatever you plan to pack, remember to pack lightly, you might come across a fabulous find!

Black is Business

Three weeks went by so fast, I felt it was the busiest days for me this year (?). Apologies for the blog hiatus. Ladies have you ever noticed why coordinators, stylist, planners and photographers wear black when doing events? You might probably think “oh it’s their uniform”, but let me tell you why they actually wear this color when doing events.

Black pants and shirts are the industry standard, it is non- descript.  You wouldn't know if it’s Gap or Bench, mostly coordinators don’t want self expression on events. Yes it might be a small detail but it should not be overlooked during events. And ladies let me ask you the same question Kelly Cutrone once asked to an interviewer, “Would you want my team to wear Cavalli on your occasion?”  Of course not, agree ladies?

I had fun styling during the couples prenuptial photo shoot, and what did I wear? Black of course! Enjoy the pictures lovelies, and always stay chic!

Pink for October

Pinks are youthful, fun, and exciting, I personally like them because for me it’s the color of happiness and it also makes me feel lighthearted. Last year, most of you agree with me that pink makes everything beautiful, this week, let me give you reasons why we should wear pink sometimes (or always).

Pink provides feelings of caring, tenderness, self-worth and love, acceptance.
Put some pink in your life when you want:

calm feelings

                                                                    to neutralize
disorder

                                                                                                       relaxation

acceptance, contentment

I grew up liking almost anything pink, from clothes, shoes, shirts to underwear, I thought I will outgrow them but I didn’t! Pink is every bit a lady. October is National Breast Cancer Awareness month, as a reminder wear something pink this Friday(?).

What I Want

The weekend is near, and because we can almost wear whatever we want to on our free uniform day, Im eager to tell you what I want to wear this coming Friday. I love skirts and heels, are you feeling them too ladies? Skirts are comfy, feminine and confident, when paired with heels they make you feel sexy and give you a boost on days when you need a lift. Yes I do wear shorts and jeans a lot lately, but there is nothing nicer pulling a skirt and a pair of high heels to make you feel ladylike again.

To make your midi skirt more fun to wear, here are foolproof tips from one my style icon, Ms. Lauren Conrad:

If you’re shortstick to a skirt that hits just above or below the knee. For taller ladies, any length will do so long as it doesn’t go below your ankles

Perfect pairings. If you wear a bold color midi, temper it with a neutral blouse. As for pleated or fuller options, keep the top simple.
